Rep. King recognizes local businesses for 50+ years of service
STATEHOUSE (Aug. 20, 2026) – Ancon Construction and Nuway Construction recently received the Governor's Half Century Business Award recognizing their longstanding service in Elkhart County, according to State Rep. Joanna King (R-Middlebury).
"The level of dedication and commitment from both of these businesses is remarkable as they've continued their operations over the years to serve our community," King said. "We're fortunate to have longstanding companies like these building and supporting our neighborhoods, and I wish them many more years of success."
Founded in 1975 in Elkhart County, Ancon Construction in Goshen serves the northern Indiana and southern Michigan regions. A 100% employee-owned company, Ancon works with clients in the commercial, industrial, retail, nonprofit and institutional markets.
Founded in 1975 in Elkhart County, Nuway Construction has grown from a small, locally rooted contractor into a design-build partner serving Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan. Over the past five decades, Nuway has completed more than 1,500 industrial and commercial projects, ranging from small renovations to large-scale facilities up to 800,000 square feet.
The Governor’s Half Century and Century Business Awards honor Hoosier businesses and organizations that have remained in operation for a minimum of 50 or 100 consecutive years, respectively, and have demonstrated a commitment to community service. Thirty-four businesses were recognized this year and more than 1,300 Indiana companies have been recognized during the program's 34-year history.
